Fulton Mississippi Recreation Area – Army Corp of Engineers

To buy some time as we made our way across the gulf to get to April’s eclipse zone, we stopped for a week in Fulton, Mississippi. We took a gamble with an Army Corps of Engineers campground having decent cellular service for the week. Fulton’s COE campground is an amazing find in a quaint little town. After some amazing off-roading time with friends in Hurricane over the last two weeks, we repositioned further southeast in Kanab, Utah. We try to find some big-horn sheep in Zion at sun up and close out the day at Bryce Canyon National Park in the afternoon. Read More »

After Las Vegas, continued northeast up I-15 to the Hurricane and St. George area ultimately for another Escapees Jeepers BOF event. What we did not know is that we would be spending two weeks right next door to some other full-timing RV friends from Florida who have made the area their new domicile. We enjoyed the famous Sand Hollow area for the first time, with our growing group of off-roading friends.Read More »

From Repairs to Red Rock: Our Las Vegas Layover

    September 17, 2025
After our unplanned extended stay in Apache Junction to button up the motorhome repairs, we finally made it northwest toward Las Vegas for just a couple of days. Our route followed U.S. Highway 93 up through Wickenburg, with most of it being four-lane divided highway. We were only here for a couple of nights, but we accomplished our lists.Read More »

When the Jeep Keeps Going but the Motorhome Says Nope

    August 26, 2025
What began as a two-week off-road adventure in Apache Junction stretched into nearly three, thanks to a cracked motorhome hitch and a botched window repair. We hit the trails with the Escapees Jeepers BOF group near Cottonwood, made new friends with ice cream in the desert heat, and battled trail damage to Rubi. Back at camp, delays from an unprepared glass company and a failing hitch forced us to cancel Flagstaff plans and stay put for emergency repairs. At least Barb got to show off her expert parking skills at Golden Sun.Read More »

Ruby’s Big Milestone: From Rescue Stray to Lap Cat

    July 11, 2025
After finally leaving our Phoenix Airbnb and reclaiming our motorhome after two weeks of repairs, we bounced between Benson, Tucson, and Casa Grande, seizing the chance to explore the deserts that lie between. We had lunches beneath towering saguaros, wandered Trail Dust Town’s dusty boardwalks, and even found comfort at a sunny cat lounge.  We meet a different Ruby, one that warms our hearts!Read More »
