What began as a two-week off-road adventure in Apache Junction stretched into nearly three, thanks to a cracked motorhome hitch and a botched window repair. We hit the trails with the Escapees Jeepers BOF group near Cottonwood, made new friends with ice cream in the desert heat, and battled trail damage to Rubi. Back at camp, delays from an unprepared glass company and a failing hitch forced us to cancel Flagstaff plans and stay put for emergency repairs. Ruby’s Big Milestone: From Rescue Stray to Lap Cat

After finally leaving our Phoenix Airbnb and reclaiming our motorhome after two weeks of repairs, we bounced between Benson, Tucson, and Casa Grande, seizing the chance to explore the deserts that lie between. We had lunches beneath towering saguaros, wandered Trail Dust Town’s dusty boardwalks, and even found comfort at a sunny cat lounge.  We meet a different Ruby, one that warms our hearts! Celebrating the Holidays in Pigeon Forge with Family and Friends

We were truly blessed to spend six wonderful weeks in Pigeon Forge celebrating the 2024 Thanksgiving and Christmas season with family and friends. Our immediate four-generation family visited from Minnesota for Thanksgiving, and we had a surprise December visit from dear Wisconsin friends and their crew. This marks the start of our first winter not heading to Disney—instead, we embraced the magic of the Smokies before making our way toward Arizona for the rest of the snow season. Exploring D.C. Amid the Pre-Election Buzz

We usually find ourselves in the Washington D.C. area each fall, reconnecting with friends and our church family. This year, however, we arrived from a new direction—traveling down from the Catskills in New York and navigating the motorhome through the busy North D.C. metro area. With the 2024 Presidential election only the following week, the city was buzzing with an extra large security presence, rallies, and protests.
